Project title: "Study of the physical conditions of the solar wind source regions"
Research Topics My research interests are in Solar Physics and focus on the study of the outer solar atmosphere.
I am investigating the coronal heating problem with a detailed study of the dynamic behaviour of the coronal plasma confined in a magnetic flux-tube in response to different kinds of heating regimes. This involves 1D numerical simulations that I performed with a hydro-code called ARGOS (Adaptively Refined Godunov Solver).
I also addressed some aspects relevant to the problem of the identification of the solar wind acceleration regions, contributing to the analysis of spectral observations of a narrow, mid-latitude streamer, performed with SOHO/UVCS in 2004.
